Captain of India Harmanpreet Kaur said on Monday that the team was determined to break the “final barrier” and to lift its first title of cricket of the Women’s World Cup this year after having missed twice before.
The 13th edition of the 50-year-old female tournament will start on September 30, the co-animators of India who should face Sri Lanka when Bengaluru opened.

Indian women reached two ODI World Cup finals, but lost on both occasions – descending in England by nine points the last time in 2017 in Lord’s.
Kaur, who made a valiant 51 points in the final, will lead India for the first time in the marquee tournament.
“Playing in front of a home crowd is always special, and I hope that this time we will give 100% and finally break this barrier that all Indian fans are waiting for,” said Kaur.
“World Cups are always special, and we always want to do something special” for the country, she said at an international cricket council event in Mumbai.

Kaur India is cool from a serial victory in England, where they beat 3-2 hosts in T20 and 2-1 games in three 50-Overs games.
“(Confidence is) very high. The type of cricket we have played in the past two years, gives us a lot of confidence,” said the first -rate striker.
India opener, Smriti Mandhana, said that the women’s team had witnessed a change of mentality over the years.
“There is a calm with which I want to go on the field,” said Mandhana at the event, which marked the 50 -day countdown at the tournament.
“Our whole team is heading in this direction. We know where we want to work hard. And when we enter the field, we know that we must simply implement.”

Pakistan will play all its matches in Colombo as part of a compromise agreement which allows India and Pakistan to play in neutral sites in multi-nation tournaments.
The final will be played on November 2 in Bengaluru or Colombo, depending on whether Pakistan reaches the shock of the title.
