“It is obviously a big boost for him, the game and the fans. It’s great.”
Tandy, the first Welshman to train the national team for 18 years, begins his role on September 1.
Wales plays Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa in Cardiff in the fall-and Rees-Zammit could now be involved.
“You can make fun of yourself, it was my impact,” said Tandy about Rees-Zammit. “I think you wouldn’t exclude anything.
“Zammo brings a great effect and an excitement by returning. I think it’s great for the game.
“He left to live something new, which is classy. I am sure he will be in exceptional physical condition.

“This will also make our calls on selection much more difficult in terms of selection, because we already have very good return players.”
Rees-Zammit said that there was a “load of interest” for its services, but its future of rugby remains uncertain.
The director general of Welsh Rugby Union, Abi Tierney, said: “I am on the moon that Louis returns to rugby because it gives us for the national team.
“The challenge we have is that we are starting the season in September. You can see what different teams do with their salary ceilings and their players.
