Peter Brazier, member of the Cabinet for Culture, Sport and Leisure at the Buckinghashire Council, said: “I am delighted to announce that the Wycombe Wanderers Football Club will be the new head tenant of these key sites, which are protected for sport and physical activity.

“Their vision and commitment to a multi-sport hub with modern and inclusive facilities will considerably increase opportunities for people of all ages and horizons of the community to practice sport and be active.

“Their proposals for the site are subject to a building permit and a consultation and commitment with existing tenants and local residents, but it is a very exciting step and promises a very brilliant future for playgrounds and the golf course very appreciated.”

The club plans to work with current tenants and users to create detailed conceptions for new facilities, emphasizing the expansion of access to sport and diversification of the activities offered.

“From the improvement of the base and the multi-sport infrastructure to the development of an academy and a state-of-the-art training center, we aim to create a lasting heritage which benefits both current users and future generations.

“We are committed to working openly and in collaboration with the advice, existing user groups and the community in the broad sense to ensure that the site remains inclusive, accessible and enriched by new investments.

“It is a question of safeguarding the use of the public while unlocking new opportunities, participation and activity for all.”

The partnership is based on the existing success of the site with Baseballsoftballuk, which has developed a national baseball and softball complex in Farnham Park.
